Explore the beautiful surroundings of Casa la Naranja, which offers numerous possibilities for relaxation as well as more active activities. Those that are in for a holiday of relaxation can go to the beach, golf course or pay a visit to Valencia or Alicante. On the other hand, the surroundings are ideal for hiking, running and cycling.
The Costa Blanca, especially the area surrounding Casa la Naranja, is an ideal area for cycling. It’s for that reason that a lot of professional and semi-professional cycling teams practice here. The area offers flat routes for those who are not in favor of climbing, but also possibilities to ride through the beautiful valleys for those who are not afraid to climb and descend.
Casa la Naranja is the perfect spot to start and end your cycling trips. After one of those fine rides you can relax your legs and muscles at our pool or relax your mind and body with a refreshing beverage.
The cities of Denia and Javea are within cycling distance, where you can have a drink on the terraces or do some shopping. Do you want to go elsewhere? Within 5 minutes you can reach the highway, which brings you to the beautiful cities of Alicante and Valencia, or the N332 which brings you to other surrounding cities, towns, beaches, valleys and mountains.
Do you enjoy stretched out sand beaches? Or do you prefer small bays with pebbles? No matter which one you choose, you can find both near our house. The sand beaches are only a 15 minute drive away and can be found in between Denia and Gandia. A little bit further down the road, you can find the small bays near Javea and Calpe. You can also do some snorkeling here so it is definitely worth the ride.
Throughout the entire year, you can go on beautiful hikes in the area of the Costa Blanca. The spring, autumn and winter are ideal for exploring the valleys and the mountains. During February and March, when the almond trees and cherry trees are in state of full blossom, the flowery scenery is astonishingly beautiful. The nature in Marina Alta is beautiful all around. It does not matter whether you climb the Montgo and the Sierra Bernia or cross the rough valleys, it will always be a very memorable and impressive experience.
After one of those beautiful and exhausting hikes, you can come to rest in one of the many restaurants that you can find near the mountains and valleys.
You can run directly from the Bed & Breakfast into the orange groves. Casa la Naranja is situated 86 meters above sea level and the area is relatively flat. There is no better place to work on your physical condition! The roads are mostly paved and there is little traffic. In addition, you can always drive to the shore and have a lovely run along the coast.
Marathons and Running events
The Costa Blanca is the ideal spot to set your personal record or work towards a new one. As said, there is no better spot to work on your physical condition! A local running event is held almost every week and you can also participate in international events such as the Marathon of Valencia and Alicante. It’s a super experience to participate in these.
In the north of the Casa Blanca are numerous golf courses. Close to our bed & breakfast you can also find many courses where you can practice your swing and to score a hole-in-one.
Do you enjoy horseback riding? The surroundings of the Casa la Naranja is perfect for making beautiful trips. Gallop away along the shore or make a trip through the mountains. On your own or in a group, everything is possible.
For those who climb for a sport, the surroundings offer a variety of routes. The quality of the routes is good and you can find secured steep walls of solid limestone which you can climb. We suggest to climb during winter time as the temperature of 20 degrees is ideal at that point during the year.
